Went to French Meadows on Tuesday. You were right about the wind. Came up about noon. Was able to boat four beautiful rainbows before that with numerous missed strikes. One of your mini dodgers and night crawler plus orange metal head fly did the trick. Twenty five feet on the downrigger for the worm and four colors of lead core on the fly.

Cal, great video! I use a spiining reel with mono to flouro leader. Would like to try a line counter bait caster for trout trolling. Any suggestions on rod length/ strength and reel. Thx!

Hey Kal You haven’t mentioned much about how you use your sonar with your lead core rig. I want to know what you look for. Are you looking for baitfish at depth. How many colors do you let out to get to depth. How deep is the water your fishing.

I was up there for Father's day from Wednesday til Sunday caught lots of brown an some macks rainbows an few kooknee an ended up with a 28" mack. Bucks is a great spot to catch a variety of fish. Always love your videos.

They flat out work. I’ve been rigging the lazy way for a while now. One thing that also helps keep hook close to worm is a small drop of pro cure. Just enough sticky plus water pressure and reduces short strikes

hey Cal, just to let you know my buddy and I just got back from Jackson Meadow today June 13 we fish there Wednesday I just happen to use your lead core pole with a gold willow leaf with your smoke color 3" grub and was successful with a 4.3 pound cutthroat trout I was fishing no deeper then 10 feet of water we caught all together 9 trout

I agree Cal! Just got back from high sierra’s and the pink and orange metal head put 20 plus fish over the rail. Almost wore it out but still had some life left for a couple more. Your idea on stinger hook off back really help me from missing the nipper fish.

Slow Death hooks also come in size 4. I wish they still made them in size 6. They used to sell them with a leader attached but it seems they stopped making those.

Thanks so much. Keep the Folsom Lake videos coming. They're great. But take count of how many times you say "guys" or "you guys." Just in this short video, 10 times! It would drive some of us nuts to be on a boat with someone who repeats the same word/s all day long! It's a lazy habit and an overused unnecessary word. Let it go...
